KINDNESS QUALIFIED

I receive a magazine called “Open Road" l-866-ECC-8209 (322-8209) that often includes articles penned by Harvey A. Green of Kailua, Hawaii. This time his column is entitled “The Meaning of Life.” I’ll include a Website at the end of this Blog to whisper a few of his words that shine with gems. Indeed, if we put them into practice the whole world would change and wars would cease.

“If we look for the meaning of life,” Harvey says, “then we must look toward that from which it springs. If we do not find compassion at the center, perhaps it is a sign that we are looking in the wrong place. We all have equal amounts accessible to us, but have placed various obstacles in our way. Anyone who can remember the experience of a connection with boundless compassion can experience a first hand knowledge of its quality. The more we use kindness the greater will be the flow of living waters through each of us. From compassion will inevitably flow the Christ life. We might prefer that life would be more complicated than this so we could justify our own neglect. God has placed the meaning of life in earth within easy reach of us all. In all things, above all things, let us just be kind, one to another. In such an activity we will awaken compassion to such a degree that the “rivers of living water” will flow from each of us. Then, like with our loving Jesus we will be a source of life, channels of blessings to all of those we meet.” Quote from “Open Road Spring 2010.”
